School Excursions

The best part of childhood is going on exciting school excursions.

Heritage education is important because it gives children a look into history and how times have changed since the 1800’s.

The education links to year 2 History curriculum. It allows students to be immersed in life as it was in the 1800’s.

School groups will have the opportunity to take part in a drama immersion program where they will be transported back to the 1850s as servants for the first owner of Wolston Farmhouse, Dr Stephen Simpson, within the original colonial setting of Wolston Farmhouse.

Programs start from $15.00 per student.

This education program will engage students and create an unforgettable experience while exploring a rural lifestyle and a diverse range of historical activities in authentic settings.

Both within the rooms of Wolston Farmhouse and the surrounding gardens, students will participate in activities such as cooking, cleaning and washing just as it would have been conducted in colonial times.

Taking the outdoor classroom to another level, students will also have the opportunity to play traditional games popular in the 19th century vintage lawn games.

At all times they will be supervised by their teachers and helpers but will be supported and guided through the experience by trained staff and volunteers. So whether you’re from Gold Coast, Brisbane or Ipswich, join us for a school excursion.
