Fort Lytton at Night - A Lost Story from the Great War

Apr 14, 2023, 7:00 PM – 8:15 PM

A unique promenade theatre piece, revealing the fort's history and the forgotten story of one of its soldiers. This story was brought to the site in 2014 by the granddaughter of Raymond Augustus Stanley. Ray served at the fort as a cadet, a Submarine Miner and a signaller, before volunteering for Gallipoli and the Western Front.

Ray led the 5th Division Signals Company and experienced many of the most momentous battles of the First World War. He became the head of signalling in Queensland and was a well-known Brisbane figure in the 1920s. But his story was forgotten. Experience the heritage site at night as you travel back in time and right around the world.
