Kangaroo Point Heritage Walking Tour

May 16, 2021, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

The suburb of Kangaroo Point is historically significant as it is Brisbane's earliest suburban residential area. Its location on a small peninsula surrounded on three sides by the Brisbane River ensured it an important role in the development of the city from early days to modern times.

We invite you to take a walk through this heritage-rich suburb and to look beyond the city and its high-rise buildings to the days of Indigenous peoples, kangaroos, shipyards, and early homes. Discover how Kangaroo Point began and how it has evolved in the modern era from a hive of industry to the present.
