Uncover the history of our region as three knowledgeable local speaker explore key events and people
Ben Gall the Managing Director and Principal Consultant at Australian Heritage Specialists will discuss the importance of identifying and protecting places of archaeological significance, including examples of Moreton Bay's rich history which survive today.
Lisa Jones, Curator of Queensland Police Museum will explore the treasures of the museum which collects Queensland's policing history.
Join Dr Margaret Shield as she explores the Crown Lands Commissioners: the first government officials appointed to the new pastoral districts surrounding Moreton Bay after it was opened to free settlement in 1842.
Local Historical Societies displays and members will available through out the morning After lunch attendees will have the opportunity to browse a range of exciting and engaging stalls from Aboriginal stone tool and artifact display, precious historical items of the region, virtual reality historical experiences, Dementia-friendly local history programs and library resource displays.
Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.
