QUT Digital Collections: Drayton & Toowoomba Heritage
5 July 2026, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Join Jill Rogers and Dr Lyndal O’Gorman from the Queensland University of Technology for an engaging presentation on QUT’s Digital Collections and their significance to the history of the Darling Downs region.
Jill Rogers will provide an overview of the collection’s origins, exploring how items connected to the early history of Drayton and Toowoomba were gathered and why their preservation is vital for future generations.
Dr Lyndal O’Gorman will then offer a personal perspective, sharing items she has donated from her own family’s collection — including digitised slides capturing scenes from Drayton and the surrounding district.
This is a wonderful opportunity to discover the stories behind these historical materials and the important role digital preservation plays in keeping our local heritage alive.
